Comedian David Walliams has been photographed without his wedding ring for the first time since separating from his wife Lara Stone three months ago, an indication that the break-up might be a permanent fixture.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge has not been seen without his wedding ring in recent months, despite splitting with supermodel Lara earlier this year.
Although Lara moved out of the couple’s home in February with their son Alfred (2) and their dog Bert, the pair stressed that it was a “trial separation”.
David attended the Communications Business Awards in London on Thursday without his ring and was photographed spending time with beauty blogger Sophy Victoria.
“You handsome man you,” Victoria tweeted to David.
“Thanks for putting up with the boring telecoms stuff tonight.”
Sources close to Walliams revealed that the comedian is devastated by the split and desperately wants to save the relationship.
“David was holding out hope that he and Lara would stay together,” a source told The Mirror.
“But after going to America this month he realised he needs to try and move on. This is the first step in that direction.”
“He met up with James Corden while he was in LA. It helped to clear his head and his friends have rallied around helping him to move on with the split.”
Supermodel Lara has moved into a luxury apartment around the corner from the couple’s home in Highgate and is rumoured to be seeing photographer Matt Easton, who she has been friends with since 2011.
The model was first to step out without her ring two weeks ago.
It’s always sad when a family breaks up. News of a split last month between comedian-turned-children’s-author David Walliams and his supermodel wife, Lara Stone, with whom he has a 22-month-old son, Alfred, represents a tiny tragedy rather than just another celebrity casualty.
