Daniel and Majella get set for first Christmas abroad with granddaughter Olivia
Daniel and Majella O’Donnell are swapping an Irish Christmas for sun-filled fun in Tenerife, as they prepare to jet off to the Canary Islands for the holiday.
The Donegal crooner and his wife are treating their family to a holiday in the sun, where they will be joined by Majella’s mum and her daughter, as well as the pair’s granddaughter Olivia (1).
Daniel and Majella’s son-in-law will also accompany them on their festive escape.
Writing in his column in The Sunday World, Daniel said he is looking forward to spending his first Christmas abroad, and the magic has been reignited by baby Olivia.
“For the first time ever I’ll be spending it outside of Ireland this year. Majella and myself are heading off to Tenerife and I’ve told Santa where I’m going to be because we will have a little child with us!
“Our one-year-old grandchild Olivia is coming too, along with her parents and, of course, Majella’s mum will be with us as well.
“Even though it’s the first time in my 55 years that I won’t be in Ireland for Christmas, I’m looking forward to it,” he said.
The singer said he feel very fortunate to have the new baby in his life and is looking forward to a family-filled holiday.
“Olivia, of course, won’t have a clue what’s going on this year, but she’ll soon know all about the man in the red suit with the white beard and we’ll enjoy her excitement in the years ahead.
“I think people who have children in their lives at Christmas are lucky people indeed.”
