Cher gets in touch with Kim Kardashian to lend her advice about Bruce’s transition
They may be unlikely friends but Cher and Kim Kardashian have reportedly become very close throughout the last few weeks as the singer has been offering Kim advice about helping her stepdad Bruce Jenner through his transition.
The If I Could Turn Back Time singer has helped Kim by sharing her own family experience with her son Chaz.
Cher's son Chaz was born a woman called Chastity, but began the transition to become a man in 2008.
Kim's family are currently dealing with Bruce's journey to become a woman, which he publically revealed in April after prolonged media speculation. And it seems Cher is keen to help Kim deal with the circumstances.
"Kim is huge fan of Cher. At the Met Ball they talked about Bruce, and Cher told Kim that it has made her re-live what she went through with Chaz. Cher explained how she dealt with what was happening and Kim was so grateful for Cher's willingness to share her experiences. They swapped numbers," a source told Grazia.
Kim has praised Bruce since he confirmed the news and has given him her full support. Bruce even mentioned Kim and her husband Kanye West in his tell-all interview with Diane Sawyer, revealing that Kanye strongly supported Bruce's decision and helped Kim come to terms with it too.
And it seems Cher is also happy to lend her support to the reality TV star.
"Kim has so many questions. She's grateful Cher was so open and believes it's helped her be there for her family. Kim feels like the strong one," the insider said.
Cher has previously spoken about what she went through with Chaz. While she was totally supportive of the change, the 69-year-old did admit the actuality was strange for a mother to experience.
