Zoe Ball's son Woody has posted a touching message on Instagram, pledging to look after his mother following the tragic death of her boyfriend Billy Yates

The 16-year-old, Zoe's son from her marriage to DJ Norman Cook, melted hearts when he shared a tribute to the late cameraman on his social media on Tuesday.

Posting a shot of crabs on a lobster pot, Woody added the words 'Billy Yates 1976 - 2017' to the top left corner of the picture, and captioned it: "I'm sorry we spent so little time together. No one deserves to feel what you felt. I'll look after her."

Blown away by her son's empathetic attitude, Zoe commented on his post by writing: "Woo my best boy. You make me the proudest mama ever. You blow my mind with your love."

Woody's post came a day after Billy's funeral on Monday, which Zoe attended alongside other members of his friends and family. She marked the occasion by sharing a picture of Billy smiling on holiday, and wrote: "'Goodnight my beautiful Boy. I'll be loving you always."

A representative for the Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two presenter told the Daily Mail Online: "The funeral of Billy Yates was yesterday attended by family and close friends."

Billy, who worked as a cameraman on the Antiques Roadshow, was found at his flat in south London on 4 May. According to reports, he hanged himself after suffering from depression and financial problems.

Understandably, Zoe has been struggling to cope following Billy's untimely passing. When a fan tweeted her recently saying that she must be feeling "sad, bewildered and wondering what the point is", Zoe replied: "Pretty much spot on. Thank you for your kindness. Means so very much. Love xxx."

Zoe, 46, and Billy went public with their romance earlier this year, following the end of her 18-year marriage to Fatboy Slim star Norman.
