Yvonne Connolly on her relationship with John Conroy: 'I don't believe in marriage for us'
Yvonne Connolly has revealed she and partner John Conroy will never tie the knot because "it's the right thing to do" for younger people who are starting a family.
The mum-of-three (43) and the filmmaker have been dating for over four years and don't have any interest in changing the dynamic of their relationship.
"We're very happily unmarried. We met on the set of (my daughter) Missy's movie and it was lovely because it was at a difficult time in both of our lives, when both our marriages had broken up so we came to each other from the same circumstances, it was lovely," she told RSVP Magazine.
"I love the bones of him, he's an amazing man, but we've no interest in changing our relationship."
John has six children from a previous relationship and since the couple have no plans for anymore, Yvonne reckons there's not much point in them getting hitched.
"The reason why we're not getting married is because we have nine children between us, we're not going to have any more children, and we both have our families," she said.
"It's not that I don't believe in marriage, it's just that I don't believe in marriage for us.
"For younger people who want to start a family, it's the thing to do and the right thing to do.
"It's a lovely way to bring up children in that environment, but for us it's just different circumstances so it's not for us," she said.
