Why Kate Middleton is always paired with Princess Charlotte and Prince George with William
Royals have a rule for everything.
If the last 12 months have taught us anything in the world of celebrity, it's the importance of rule-following in royal circles, which means everything from carrying your clutch in a certain way and the proper way to curtsy. For years, life behind the gates of any palace was kept a mystery, but even the British royals recognise the need for more transparency, which results in delightfully rampant speculation behind their every, increasingly public move.
And while Kate Middleton and Prince William might be modernising the monarchy, they are still rather traditional when it comes to some of their parenting styles, namely their pairing up: Kate is always pictured hand in hand with Princess Charlotte (two) and Prince William with son Prince George (four).
Parenting expert Jasmine Peters said the move is a conscious one which she believes shows them lining up their eldest for his future role as King of England.
"Fathers are typically responsible for the disciplinary actions, redirection, protection and provision of the family," she told Femail.
"It is not uncommon to see a father with his son to set the foundation of what his role and responsibilities will be in life with a family. It is often believed that it takes a man to raise a boy to be a man. If you look at the pictures it clearly reflects this common belief."
"Yes, it could reflect that Kate and William are traditional, but it also reflects the importance of the bond created between father and son and mother and daughter that they both treasure and hold dearly as responsible and loving parents."
Ms Peters added that it might be simply down to their intention to create a strong mother-daughter and father-son bond, which was in particular on display during their trip to Canada in 2016.
"Children often equate their worth to the parent that looks like them," she added.
"The couple are clearly loving parents who understand the importance of a strong mother-daughter and father-son bond, according to Jasmine
"Although these pictures can look a bit traditional, William and Kate may also understand the importance of a son bonding with his father and a daughter bonding with her mother."
