When Kate Middleton (and bump) met Harry Styles at the Royal Variety show
Kate Middleton stole the show at last night's Royal Variety Performance.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stepped in for Queen Elizabeth II as guests of honour at last night's Royal Variety Performance at London Palladium and, as expected, all eyes were on the expectant Duchess.
The royal couple watched the performance for the first time and took time to shake hands with each performer, including Mullingar native Niall Horan and Harry Styles of One Direction, before taking to their seats.
1D ignored the black tie dress code and instead opted for matching black skinny jeans (yes, all five of them) and black blazers, except for young Mick Jagger, who wore a button down black shirt and leopard print jacket.
Harry later added that he wished Kate well on her second pregnancy, saying: "I said congratulations on the bump... she 'didn't look bumpy'.
It's not the boys' first royal introduction as they previously performed there for the Queen in 2012.
The Duchess wore a recycled black lace Diane Von Furstenberg dress, which showed off her tiny baby bump.
Ellie Goulding, Ed Sheeran, One Direction and Bette Midler were among those performing at last night's show, as did comedian Jack Whitehall, wjo attended school with Kate and joked that his mother believes she's the "one that got away."
"She'll be doing it tonight, she'll be watching the Royal Variety show and I know what she'll be saying. She'll be like:, 'Oh look, there he is. The black sheep of the family, embarrassing himself in front of the one that got away.''
