Watch out George and Charlotte, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar of Sweden pose for adorable new summer photos
The world's gaze may be firmly fixed on Prince George and Princess Charlotte of Britain, but Sweden's Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar are in the running to take their crown.
The Royal Palace of Sweden have released new images of five-year-old Estelle and her baby brother Oscar (one), the two children of Crown Princess Victoria and her husband Prince Daniel.
Little Estelle is second in line to the throne, after her mother Victoria, and is already a scene-stealer as she often plays and jokes for photographers at public events.
The photos were released on Friday ahead of Midsummer Day in Sweden on today, June 24, a holiday second only to Christmas in importance, a festival which celebrates the arrival of summer, children being out of school and most head to the country for the occasion.
The sweet images, taken at the family's home in Stockholm, the Haga Palace, show a close brother-sister bond as they pose on the balcony overlooking the palace's gardens.
And while Princess Sofia of Sweden, Prince Carl Philip's wife, prefers to take her own pictures of son Alexander like Kate Middleton, Victoria hired a professional, royal photographer Erika Gerdemark Kungahuset for the occasion.
In an interview with Swedish news agency TT, Victoria said her son is "calm and respectful of people and loves his older sister", while Estelle is "very cheerful, loves people. She’s self-confident and has a great sense of humour, and she is very caring."
"Unfortunately, I miss many important moments of my children’s life…I watch them and often record their small victories and undertakings," she added.
"My whole life is for Sweden. It may seem pretentious, but I feel it, it’s true. I see my parents and their tireless work, and I notice with joy how they do it, with never-ending interest. I hope that I can experience the same joy at their age."
