Vogue Williams' boyfriend Spencer Matthews admits he does not feel empathy and has 'never been anxious'
Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews has admitted he does not feel empathy towards other people.
The reality TV star revealed that he does not have a huge understanding of how other people are feeling in an interview with a psychotherapist for a new All4 show.
Celebrity Psych Test sees psychotherapist Lee Valls analyse celebrities' personalities and Spencer and his Made in Chelsea pal Jaime Laing both undertook the test.
Laing reportedly had "a huge interest in others and a great deal of empathy" but Matthews (28) did not.
"It’s not a very nice thing to not have empathy," he said.
"I would like to have empathy. If I’m chatting to someone who’s an anxious wreck and I don’t understand it, because I’ve never been anxious, then it’s strange.
"There’s no real way of talking to them about it without saying I’ve no idea what you’re talking about. I’m better than you."
However, he said he is "getting there" in terms of trying to understand other people's feelings as he gets older, but then admitted that he suspected he would come out of the test as a psychopath.
Matthews is currently dating Irish model and presenter Vogue Williams (31) who has been very open about her struggles with anxiety.
In an upcoming episode of her new three part documentary series for RTE Vogue tackles the issue of anxiety and associated disorders and allowed the cameras to film the aftermath of one of her anxiety attacks.
Vogue: My Anxious Life airs Tuesday night October 10 at 10.05pm on RTE2.
