Uma Thurman: Make-up looked weird
Uma Thurman has admitted she looked "weird" when she ditched the mascara at a recent showbiz event.
The 44-year-old actress chose not to slap on the eye make-up at the New York launch party for her new TV show The Slap - sparking speculation from some that she had had plastic surgery.
Asked about the look on the Today Show, the Pulp Fiction star said: "I know I look weird. I don't know, I guess nobody liked my make-up."
Uma accentuated her pale skin and strong cheekbones by wearing just a hint of natural tinted eye shadow and blusher, but no mascara or pencil to define her big blue eyes, teamed with bright red lipstick and sleeked back hair.
But she shrugged off the negative comments saying: "I've been doing this for years and years and years. People say things nice and they say things mean and it's just like 'whatever'. You take the good with the bad."
Renee Zellweger provoked a similar reaction last year when she attended a red carpet event with minimal make-up and her hair swept off her face, which also prompted comments that she may have undergone cosmetic surgery.
