It has been a great week for comedian Stephen Fry.

The British actor (57) took to his Twitter account this evening to let the world know that he has officially tied the knot with his now husband, Elliot Spencer (27).

Fry confirmed last week that he would be holding a private ceremony to exchange his vows, and it proved to be the right one as the happy couple are grinning ear to ear in the adorable picture, as they sign the register.

“Gosh. @ElliottGSpencer and I go into a room as two people, sign a book and leave as one. Amazing,” he tweeted.

The newlyweds look equally dashing in their formal wedding attire.

According to reports, the pair wed at a register office in Dereham, Norfolk, near to where Fry grew up.

Fry said he was “very, very happy,” when news of his plans to marry broke, and said that he wanted a private ceremony.

Spencer (30 years Fry’s junior) is reportedly a self-proclaimed comedian and aspiring writer. The two apparently met in the last year, and subsequently began dating.

Many fans took to Twitter to wish the happy couple congratulations.
