Weatherman and presenter Martin King has revealed his top tips to sustaining a happy marriage.

The TV3 star revealed that he and his wife Jenny are each other’s best friend and this has been key to their long-standing relationship.

“I definitely think you need to be friends and it’s important that you don’t take each other for granted. Investing time in each other is important too,” Martin told RSVP magazine.

Martin revealed that he and Jenny make sure to dedicate time to one another, despite their busy lifestyle.

“Date nights always get slagged off but I always feel that you need to make time for each other.

“Kids will grow up and leave, and when it’s back to you, you want to make sure you still know the person sitting in front of you.”

The presenter revealed that the best relationship advice he ever received was from one of his uncles who reminded that women are always right.

“I was told by uncles when getting into a relationship that the two words you need to know are: “Yes, love”. No matter what, she’s always right, so “yes, love”.

“My dad is the one that installed it in me that you should never take her for granted or her time for granted.

“He told me never to make an arrangement that may not suit. So yeah, my dad said don’t take the love of your life for granted,” he said.
