Jennifer Saunders will have to compete against the likes of Zoe Ball, Nigel Havers, Vic Reeves and Charles Dance and a host of other famous faces in the new series of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip.

The show pits contestants against each other to seek out undiscovered relics up and down the country in order to make as much possible profit from their original £400 starting point.

The Absolutely Fabulous star will be paired on the BBC Two programme with her best friend, former Holby City actress Patricia Potter.

Saunders and Potter will be seen in the first episode of the series turning over a huge profit with a pair of rare bronze turkeys at an auction in Greenwich after travelling to Berkshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire with veteran antiquers Philip Serrell and Mark Stacey.

They manage to bring in the largest profit of the series, despite Saunders previously rejecting the unique poultry pieces.

Comic actress Su Pollard, who is partnered with her former Hi-de-Hi co star Ruth Madoc, manages to make a loss of nearly £200 after gambling on a larger-than-life ship's figurehead of a cross-eyed Jesus.

Music stars Jimmy Osmond and Tony Christie add some entertainment as they halt proceedings at an auction house with a crowd sing-a-long of Osmond's hit song Long Haired Lover From Liverpool.

Fun moments also arise for the star contestants as they encounter trouble with driving vintage cars across Britain, with actors Dance and Havers both facing difficulties.

The new series also includes Dad's Army star Ian Lavender, TV chefs Antonio Carluccio and Gennaro Contaldo, Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two's Ian Waite, comics Ronni Ancona and Jan Ravens and Paralympian Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, among others.

Adrian Padmore, BBC Commissioning Editor, said: "It's wonderful to have Celebrity Antiques Road Trip back on our screens with such a stellar cast of famous faces. As always, there's something for everyone, with plenty of winners, plenty of losers and lots of laughter along the way."

:: The sixth series of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip airs on BBC Two from Monday November 14 at 7pm.
