This relationship is moving fast!
Reality tv star Kate Wright (26) has quit showbiz in order to pursue a quieter life with her boyfriend of less than one year Rio Ferdinand (38) and his three children Lorenz (11), Tate (nine) and Tia (six). The legendary footballer lost his wife Rebecca Ellison to cancer in 2015.
In recent months, reports have surrounded the couple's burgeoning romance and Wright has consciously pulled back from the spotlight, even quitting The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE), the show that made her famous, for
"I’m taking a step back from the public eye, I want to keep my life private as I lived my previous relationship on TOWIE, my priority right now is Rio and the family," she told The Sun. The paper reports she will be ending all commercial partnerships with brands and pulling back on her social media activity, as well as cutting ties with her agent to ensure her intentions are taken seriously.
The couple were first pictured together on holiday in Portugal over the summer and were first linked in January. She has remained tight-lipped about her relationship, but she paid tribute to Rio's late mother Janice in July after she lost her battle with cancer.
Posting a meme which read, "Always loved, never forgotten, forever missed", Kate added in the caption, "She's Royal", alongside praying hands and purple heart emojis. Following Janice's tragic passing, Rio, his brother Anton and the Ferdinand family released a statement in which they described her as "an inspiration" who was "loved by everyone".
