Top Irish model Thalia Heffernan joins the fight against bullying
Top Irish model Thalia Heffernan is the latest famous face to join the campaign against bullying.
The 20-year-old catwalk queen, who is signed with Morgan the Agency, is fronting the ISPCC's anti-bullying campaign with Penneys for 2015.
She launched the ISPCC Shield Bangle today, which will be sold at Penneys' 38 stores around Ireland.
Photographer Barry McCall shot the campaign three weeks ago, following in the footsteps of Rosanna Davison and Sarah Morrissey, among others, who featured in last year's Blue Shield drive.
"Bullying is something that happens everywhere," she told Independent Style. "If it's not firsthand, it's through close friends or family.
"Almost everyone I know has experience bullying at some point. It's a massive charity to get involved with and it's quite close to home.
"I think children get the brunt of a lot of it and to be able to support children through all this is the most important thing."
Thalia said she jumped at the chance to support the children's charity.
"I'm more than happy to support the cause," she explained.
"The ISPCC an incredible charity, I do the show for them with Brown Thomas every year. This year is different because we have the bangle, everyone knows the shield."
The Shield Bangle is on sale for €2.50 at Penneys stores and 100% of the proceeds will go the charity.
