This is what Sarah Bolger looks like now
When you're an actress, being a chameleon is a basic job requirement.
When you're a former child star transitioning into more dramatic roles, it's absolutely essential; which is especially true for Irish actress Sarah Bolger.
Since shooting to fame in 2002 with In America when she was just 11 years old, the Dublin native, now 27, is based full-time Los Angeles and is, as expected, constantly experimenting with her image for roles.
Bolger was one of the VIP guests in attendance at Thursday night's Oscar Wilde Awards, which hosts the best of Irish in Hollywood, she took inspiration from some Old Hollywood glamour with her newly blonde hair in waves, letting her shimmering green Don O'Neill take centre stage.
She is a regular at the annual event, hosted by JJ Abrams, and each year, is showing off a new look or hair colour.
She just finished her turn in martial arts drama Into The Badlands, which is filmed in Dublin and Wicklow, and is preparing to shoot Sons of Anarchy spin-off Mayan MC. Bolger explained in January that she expects to move to California or Mexico for filming.
"But for me that is a huge chunk of time - it's going to be six or seven months where I won't be able to come home and it's hard sometimes to think about that," she said.
"So you say: 'All right, I have to go set up a life for a short period of time so far away from everyone.' Even in terms of time difference, it is a really hard job but I think that we all do it because we all love it.
"You have to give every portion of yourself to it. As an artist that is just what you do - because we love it - we were born to do it."
