'This is a great opportunity to voice my own opinions' - Holly Carpenter on her 'fun' new role
Meet the latest addition to the Herald team - top model, former Miss Ireland and reality star Holly Carpenter.
The 24-year-old Raheny native is all set to give you the latest showbiz gossip, reveal what's caught her eye during the week and voice her opinions on the trending topics online.
Starting tomorrow, the straight-talking beauty will be writing a column - Holly's Dublin Diary - exclusively for the Herald.
Every Friday she'll be keeping readers up-to-date with what's going on at the hottest events around the city.
"I'm delighted to be joining the Herald team. I've always loved writing so this is a great opportunity to voice my own opinions and let readers know what's going on in my life," she said.
"There's so much happening in Dublin at the moment, especially in the run-up to Christmas, so it's going to be a really fun time to start my column.
"It's going to be all about beauty, fashion and showbiz news and I'll also be adding my own two-cents to topics that catch my eye. I can't wait to get started."
The girl-about-town previously appeared on the 11th series of Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model, which saw her rubbing shoulders with supermodel Elle McPherson.
The model with Andrea Roche's agency stepped into the spotlight after winning Miss Ireland in 2011 and went on to compete in Miss World.
And she hit the headlines after Hollywood heart-throb Ashton Kutcher picked up on her hilarious Snapchat post about what girls really mean when they post pictures of themselves online.
The Hollywood star shared the piece to millions of followers on his Facebook page and added that "any explanation is always helpful" when it comes to the popular App.
