Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have reportedly welcomed their first child - a bouncing baby girl.
The 27-year-old Gossip Girl actress revealed the couple were expecting a baby on her website Preserve last October.
And according to Page Six, the pair welcomed a healthy baby in December. The newborn’s sex was not known earlier today, but a worker at Westchester Medical Center seems to have given the game away.
A worker known as @kimbanksy said: 'Congrats @blakelively #blakelively glad to have you and baby girl violet in our care.'
The tweet, first spotted by Page Six, had not been verified this evening.
Blake gave birth near the family home in Bedford, New York.
An insider dished to Us Weekly: "The baby came early but everyone is happy and healthy. The Bedford house is all prepared. They're going to stay up there for the baby's first days."
Rumours arose last year Ryan and Blake’s new arrival is a little girl.
But the 38-year-old Green Lantern actor previously denied they knew their baby’s gender.
“I’m just excited about having a buddy,” he told People magazine previously. “We don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl yet, but whatever it is, you have this tether to reality that never goes away.”
Ryan also spoke of his thoughts on becoming a father for the first time.
The positive star is most interested in maintaining an optimistic outlook on the whole process.
“For a lot of new dads, you tend to dwell on the mistakes you don’t want to make,” he noted. “I’m at that stage still where I’m focused primarily on being open and understanding and leaving a lot of room for error.”
Blake is elated about motherhood.
She previously spoke about how being a parent has been a lifelong dream for her.
“It’s something that I’ve always wanted ever since I was a little girl…I knew I wanted to have a lot of kids because I had come from a big family so it was always important to me,” she told Us Weekly magazine. “So it’s just the excitement of that finally being here.”
Ryan and Blake tied the knot in 2012.
