There's a strong possibility Meghan Markle and Prince Harry might already be engaged
Hold on to your hats because there's news that will blow the lid off our favourite new royal romance.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry might already be "secretly engaged", but are holding off on pubilcising the news until later this year, according to Us Weekly. After a loved-up appearance at the Invictus Games last week, an engagement seems all but imminent, but insiders are now claiming that the 32-year-old royal may have already popped the question to the American actress.
"I think it's already happened but they're holding the news back until she has finished on Suits," a source told the mag. "I've never seen them happier. It's amazing."
After nearly two years of a handful of grainy pictures to go off, they made their public debut last month. Their arrival to watch wheelchair tennis last Monday in Toronto made news around the world as they bucked royal protocol holding hands and indulging in some PDA, and for Saturday night's closing ceremony, they were pictured cuddling in the VIP box, alongside Meghan's mother Doria Ragland.
Much was made of their first public meeting, but Doria and Harry have known each other for over a year. The couple haven't wasted any time in meeting each other's families and most recently, Meghan is said to have finally been introduced to Harry's grandmother, Britain's Queen Elizabeth.
"Harry is incredibly protective about the people he cares about and Doria has really felt that. It's one of the things she admired about Harry the most when she was getting to know him," the insider added.
After "totalling charming" Prince William, Kate Middleton - and more importantly Princess Charlotte and Prince George - she is said to have met with Britain's Queen Elizabeth at Windsor Castle before attending Pippa Middleton's wedding in May.
"He's completely in love and wants to include Meghan in his life as much as possible," a royal source told heat magazine.
Further adding fuel to the engagement fire, she closed down her lifestyle blog The Tig and ended her contract as a brand ambassador with a leather company, suggesting she's tying up loose ends before a more permanent move across the UK - likely with the promise of a ring and a crown.
Not to mention Westminster Abbey's unprompted statement released earlier this year clarifying she is eligible to wed Prince Harry there, despite the fact that she is divorced (she was previously married to Trevor Engelson from 2011 to 2013).
"The Abbey follows the General Synod Ruling of 2002. Since then it has been possible for divorced people to be married in the Church of England," a spokesperson told the Daily Express.
