The Script reveal they miss Superquinn sausages and 'chipper chips' the most while on international tours
The talented trio from Irish pop rock band The Script have revealed what they miss most when travelling on a world tour.
Singer Danny O'Donoghue, guitarist Mark Sheehan, and drummer Glen Power all agree on what Irish foods top their list.
Superquinn sausages, "chipper chips", and cups of tea.
Danny told Ryan Tubridy on the Late Late Show that all he craves is a good old-fashioned sausage sandwich.
“You can have anything in the world, [but the most enticing thing is] the smell of a sausage sandwich”
Glen chimed in saying: “Fresh cod and chips from the local chipper and a cup of tea.”
While Mark said a touring musician pays the price of missing out on family time, while they're abroad.
“The double-edged sword is being away from family all the time,” he said.
When Danny arrives home from a world tour, he said it can take a few weeks to wind down from the hectic pace of continuous shows.
He said he empathises with Bono’s wife Ali who he believes keeps U2's lead singer "out of the house" for at least a few weeks after the tour is over.
“It’s a total departure [coming home]. It takes me a few days”
Tickets for The Script's homecoming show at Dublin Castle sold out in just three minutes last August.
Today the band released their fourth album, No Sound Without Silence.
Competition for tickets to tomorrow’s show was fierce amongst fans. The show will be the band's first appearance in Ireland since March 2013.
The band have been busy touring the US and writing and recording songs for their new album.
