The plot thickens - Bobbi Kristina’s relatives attempt to ‘cash in’ on tragedy
While Bobbi Kristina Brown remains in a medically induced coma, it seems some of her relatives are exploiting the situation.
Us Weekly is reporting that “unauthorised” members of the extended family are offering interviews in return for cash payment and media perks.
“Certain family members have asked for thousands of dollars in payment, plus other perks like car services and hotel stays, to do press interviews, an insider told the magazine.
The family’s lawyer, Christopher Brown, has released an official statement urging the media to cease speaking with “unauthorised members of the family” as they have no knowledge of Bobbi Kristina’s progress.
"The integrity of the events that led to the hospitalization of Bobbi Kristina must remain uncompromised. Various members of the family have provided media interviews, however, none of them are approved visitors to see Bobbi Kristina.
“None of them have firsthand knowledge of Bobbi Kristina’s treatment and the medical staff at Emory University Hospital has not communicated with them,” he added.
21-year-old Bobbi Kristina, the only child of the late Whitney Houston and singer Bobby Brown, remains in a coma since she was found unresponsive in a bathtub at her home on January 31st.
The tragedy comes eerily close to the second anniversary of her mother's death. Whitney was found dead after she drowned in her hotel room bathtub on February 11th 2012.
