Thalia Heffernan on her romance with dancer Ryan McShane - 'It's nice to celebrate something so lovely'
With her relationship with Dancing with the Stars professional Ryan McShane in its infancy, and ex-boyfriend Maser rumoured to have moved on, it's no wonder stunning Thalia Heffernan is keen to play her cards close to her chest.
Last weekend, the beautiful 21-year-old model became the second celebrity to get booted off hit RTÉ series Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) following Hughie Maughan's exit on week one of the show.
Not one to get down about things, an upbeat Thalia hit Krystle with the gang from the show following her elimination, with new beau Ryan promptly posting a declaration of love for "my winner" on his Instagram account - a modern-day confirmation of romance if we ever saw one.
If she is consumed by butterflies and the giddiness of the first throes of love, Thalia seems already weary about letting the public in on any details. "It will be me, my dog Bowie, and a box of chocolates and some wine," she insists to Weekend about her plans for February 14. "What else do you need?"
Love is something that can be celebrated every day, Thalia says.
"I think that romance is always such a lovely thing and not just on Valentine's Day. It's nice to celebrate something so lovely and sweet and kind that makes you happy. Who doesn't like a bit of romance?"
The Dubliner has thrown herself back into work following her stint on the show, but she was undoubtedly disappointed to leave.
Despite getting positive feedback from the judges following all of her performances on DWTS, Thalia found herself in the bottom three during week one, and was sent home on week two.
And speaking following her elimination, Thalia's worried perhaps she didn't practice enough due to her gruelling modelling schedule.
"I was busy with work and away on jobs and things like that so I don't know, maybe I needed more hours practicing," she shrugs.
"Still, it has just been the most amazing experience and I did my best and we are all a family on the show. It has been incredible.
"I have made friends for life. Nothing negative has come out of the show, it's amazing."
As for who she thinks is going to take home the Dancing with the Stars trophy on March 26? "Denise and Ryan," she says, without missing a beat, a twinkle evident in her eyes.
Rescue dog Bowie should probably expect another visitor on Valentine's Day...
