Sweden's Princess Sofia dazzles in diamond tiara at her first state banquet
Sweden's newest princess dazzled at her first state banquet in Stockholm.
Former model Princess Sofia Hellqvist wed Prince Carl Philip in June and the pair are expecting their first child in April of next year.
The expectant mum made her first appearance at a state dinner on Thursday night, wearing a navy blue gown with embellished detail, which masked her growing baby bump.
Sofia, whose rise to Swedish royalty was not without its controversy as she was previously named 'Miss Slitz' magazine in 2004 and also enjoyed a brief reality tv career, looked beautiful in navy blue at the Nobel prize award banquet hall, where she sat at the "honour table" alongside Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Madeleine.
She was escorted into Stockholm's City Hall by Nobel Physics Prize 2015 co-winner Japanese Takaaki Kajita.
