Irish actor Michael Fassbender was enjoying his down time from filming his latest movie with his co-star Alicia Vikander in Australia over the weekend.
The pair play husband and wife in a new historical drama, The Light Between Oceans, which also stars Rachel Weisz.
It tells the story of a lighthouse keeper and his wife who live off the coast of Western Australia and raise a baby they rescue from a drifting rowing boat.
The movie was principally shot in New Zealand, but some scenes were filmed in the northwest Tasmanian town of Stanley while others are currently shooting in Sydney.
Fassbender showed off his toned physique as he enjoyed an afternoon surfing with the Swedish beauty.
Previously, Vikander (26) has been linked with fellow Swede Alexander Skarsgard who is best known for his role as vampire Eric Northman on the HBO series True Blood.
Meanwhile, Fassbender (37) has been most recently linked with supermodel Naomi Campbell and Zoe Kravitz.
This is not his first time to take on a historical film - he received an Oscar nomination for his turn in Twelve Years A Slave.
The German-born Kerryman is rumoured to be playing the late Steve Jobs in a new biopic about the Apple creator's life.
Sony had dropped the Aaron Sorkin-penned drama, but it has now been picked up by Universal.
The film, based on Walter Isaacson's 2011 biography, Steve Jobs, will be directed by Trainspotting's Danny Boyle .
With Fassbender confirmed in the lead role, Oscar winner Natalie Portman is reportedly in talks to appear in the movie as Jobs' daughter, Lisa Brennan-Jobs.
