Great British Bake Off presenter Sue Perkins has said it is time she "stretched her legs" as she announced an extension to her live tour after quitting the hit TV show.

Perkins, who with Mel Giedroyc has hosted Bake Off since it launched on the BBC in 2010, is to leave the programme when it moves to Channel 4 next year.

On Tuesday she announced a further 16 dates in her Spectacles show which sold out during its initial leg in September.

She said: "Having spent the last seven years crammed into a tellybox shouting the word 'Bake', I think it's high time I got out, and stretched my legs on the UK stage.

"I loved writing Spectacles and I can't wait to bring the all-singing, all-dancing version to a town near you."

The tour, which includes stops in Leicester, Cardiff, Glasgow and Bristol, will start in Milton Keynes on February 11 and close in York on March 22.

Last month Perkins and Giedroyc confirmed they will not be fronting Bake Off after it leaves the BBC, saying in a statement they are "not going with the dough".
