Sofia Vergara and fiance Joe Manganiello postpone wedding
Sofía Vergara and Joe Manganiello have postponed their wedding.
While the couple had planned on tying the knot this American summer, Joe's filming and promotional commitments to Magic Mike XXL have thrown a spanner in the works.
Speaking to Page Six at Sunday night's Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty, the Modern Family actress revealed that while they were left with little choice but to hit the brakes, she is upset not to be Mrs Manganiello sooner, saying the waiting is “killing” her.
“It’s killing me. We wanted to get married this summer, but Joe will be busy working and promoting Magic Mike 2," the 42-year-old explained.
“We want to get married at a time when we can get away and make time for a honeymoon. So the wedding will probably be later this year.”
The highly-anticipated sequel to 2012's stripper flick is due to hit cinemas on July 1. It sees Joe reprise his role of Big Dick Richie alongside Channing Tatum as the titular character, with the film loosely based on his real life prior to hitting the big-time as an actor.
“I would love to get married this summer, but I’m going to be too busy promoting my male stripper movie!” Joe, 38, added of the couple's disappointment.
The pair began dating in July 2014, shortly after Sofía ended her engagement to Nick Loeb.
Following a whirlwind romance, she and former True Blood star Joe became engaged just five months later, on Christmas Day, during a romantic vacation in Hawaii.
