Síle Seoige feeling 'very confident' about budding romance with Garda boyfriend
Presenter Sile Seoige has opened up about the new love in her life.
The sultry brunette said she is very happy with boyfriend, Cork Garda Damien O’Farrell, who she has been dating for just under one year.
The Galway native and fitness fanatic, who qualified recently as a Yoga teacher, met Damien after signing up for the Tour De Force charity cycle and the pair got to know each other on the five-day event in California.
Sile admitted she is smitten with her new man, who she described as being “very confident”.
“We met again after the cheque presentation following the cycle and there was more than a few sparks going off that evening,” she told RSVP Magazine.
"We hooked up and have been flying since about January,” added the former Newstalk presenter.
The notoriously private presenter managed to keep her new relationship under wraps for nearly a year. While she said she was not hiding her romance, she has no intention of flaunting her new-found love, describing it as "sacred".
"I have been very aware of wanting it to be personal and private but I am not keeping it a secret. I believe it is good to keep things sacred and precious," she said.
"We are very happy but it is doubtful you will see a spread of me and my other half at home, not that there is anything wrong with doing that, but it is not for us."
Gaelgoir Sile said she loves that Damien isn't one bit intimidated by her media profile.
"He is such a confident guy, [me being on TV] doesn't matter to him in the slightest. I am just Sile from Spiddal, not Sile Seoige from the television."
The radio and TV presenter was married to RTE producer Glen Mulcahy for three years before they split in 2008.
The presenter, who previously presented chat show Seoige with her sister Grainne, recently said she hoped to make a return to TV - but only if the right job came along.
