She's back with a bang! Cheryl Cole wows at her much-anticipated X Factor return
Cheryl Cole is back with a bang.
The 30-year-old has returned to the panel of the UK talent show after she quit to appear on the American version in 2011 – only to be sacked after a week.
Three years later and Cheryl has taken to the red carpet outside one of the first rounds of auditions in Manchester, England.
Cheryl was cheered and photographed by fans as she styled a simple asymmetric skirt and panelled white t-shirt.
The ‘Crazy Stupid Love’ paused on her way into the studios to pose for selfies with fans.
Media mogul Simon Cowell is also returning to the judging panel on the ITV show this year, as part of a shake up to tackle flagging ratings.
He told the Sunday People: "Of course the pressure is going to be on Cheryl this year, coming back after a break. All eyes are going to be on her, but she is ready for it. She's going to be great."
He added: "We're both looking forward to sitting together on the panel again."
Cheryl was booted off American X Factor after a week amid reports she was a flop with US audiences, who struggled to understand her Geordie accent.
She then snubbed Simon's offer to return to the UK panel, and went on to sue the X Factor's American producers in a multimillion-dollar lawsuit for her unpaid two-year salary, plus expenses.
She and Simon will be joined by Mel B and Louis Walsh on the show this year.
The 54-year-old TV and music mogul - who has just celebrated his first Father's Day with four-month-old son Eric - also revealed he wants baby Eric to take over his business empire from him when he is old enough.
Simon said: "In all seriousness he's going to do what I do. In time he's going to inherit my business."
