Samantha Mumba has welcomed her first child into the world.

The singer (32) gave birth to daughter Sage on Tuesday.

Delighted Samantha took to Twitter yesterday to announce the happy news and assured fans everything is "absolutely perfect" with the newborn.

"Very happy to share that our beautiful daughter Sage arrived earth side safe, sound and absolutely perfect on March 3rd," she wrote.

The baby is Samantha's first with her American husband Torray Scales, who has a young son from a previous relationship.

Samantha married the policeman in 2012, and the happy news of the new arrival comes just a week after they celebrated their third wedding anniversary.

The Dubliner, who now lives in LA, has previously been vocal about her pregnancy on social media.

Last month she posted on Instagram to reveal she had survived a car crash just weeks before she was due to give birth.

She said she was lucky to be alive after writing off her car in a three-vehicle pile-up on a motorway.

Shaken after the accident, she shared a picture of her legs on an ambulance trolley at the scene.

"So yesterday was a bad day. Three-car pile-up that we got the brunt of," she wrote. "My poor car written off a week before the baby is due. As is her car seat.

"On a more positive note God protected us all. After spending the night in hospital monitoring her we are just so grateful that our little girl is okay and this wasn't any worse. Serious reality check."

The Drumcondra native also used Instagram to announce her pregnancy last September.

Sharing a picture of her scan, she revealed that she was expecting a girl.

The Gotta Tell You singer has also shared a lot about her pregnancy on her blog, including why she's already setting up an email address for the newborn.

"For my little girl, once we have decided on her name, I will be setting up an email address for her," she wrote online.

"Every year on her birthday I am going to write her an email and attach pictures of her/special moments from throughout that year.

"Close family members might send her ones too. When she is older I will give her the email address and password.

"I think it will be nice for her to have."
