Selena Gomez and mother Mandy unfollow each other on Instagram after 'row over Justin Bieber'
Drama seems to follow Selena Gomez.
The former Disney star (25) and her mother Mandy Teefey have unfollowed each other on Instagram, one week after they had a "heated" argument, after which her mother checked herself into the hospital.
It's believed the pair were fighting over Gomez's reconciliation with on/off boyfriend Justin Bieber (23), whom she reconciled with in October and her mother was upset when she discovered how serious the couple are. It's reported that her family will "never forgive" him after their 2014 split.
Last week, police were called to Teefey's hotel after a family member notified them, TMZ reports. She was taken to a welfare centre at the request of a family member. Later on, she checked herself into hospital, but an insider emphasised it was not because of Bieber.
"It’s been a stressful time for Mandy and she made the decision herself to go to the hospital and make sure everything was okay...This wasn’t just about Justin," the insider said.
The pair are famously close and Mandy was an executive producer on 13 Reasons Why with her daughter earlier this year.
Just a few days ago, she honoured her daughter Scarlett, whom she lost in 2011 via miscarriage and thanked supporters on social media.
"Thank you to all the fans who honoured our Scarlett yesterday. Dec 17th will never be the same, but we decide to celebrate her by writing her letters on red balloons and releasing them," she wrote. "Now the 17th is intertwined with the wrap of S2. So, she was there in spirit as always. A moms love for their children is pretty fierce. In order of my girls, Selena, Scarlett and Gracie. Family is what matters, blood or not, #family13 made me smile and feel loved when so needed and they didn't know.
"Then, I came home to Brian and Gracie to send our love to Scarlett. Fans, I want you to know you are family because I have a huge family and you are the only ones who remember! XO forever. (sic)"
It's been a difficult year for the family - over the summer, Selena received a kidney transplant, which was donated by her best friend Francia Raisa, as her battle with Lupus, had caused her kidneys to deteoriate and she said would have died without Raisa.
"My kidneys were just done. That was it and I didn’t want to ask a single person in my life and that was the day I came home when I found out and she volunteered and did it," she said.
