Sarah Morrissey ditches red carpet for five star hen bash in Wexford
Top model Sarah Morrissey has celebrated her hen party as she enjoyed a fun-filled weekend with family and friends.
The former Miss Ireland (29) was a notable absentee from the Peter Mark VIP Style Awards last weekend as her model pals partied the night away without her.
But it seems the Liberties beauty had bigger fish to fry, mainly the small business of marking her last few weeks as a single girl ahead of her marriage to Pat Jennings Jr.
The Herald can reveal how she and her close-knit group of pals and relatives headed to the Seafield golf and spa resort for a weekend of pampering.
And she obviously had a ball, describing it as an "amazing weekend".
She was joined at the Gorey hotel by her twin sister Louise along with a gaggle of friends as well as her fiance's sisters and mum.
"Big thank you to Lou for all the amazing organisation. I have so many wonderful friends and family. Big love to you all," Sarah wrote on her Facebook page.
She will walk down the aisle with her footballer fiance, the son of goalkeeping legend Pat Snr, at an intimate bash in Tuscany in mid-June.
Due to their mutually-large families they have had to keep the numbers to a minimum and are only having 120 guests on their big day.
Among those expected to attend are Sarah's fellow Assets models Yomiko, Karen Fitzpatrick and Aoife Cogan.
All eyes will be on the gorgeous blonde, with huge speculation as to which designer she has chosen to wear on her wedding day.
One of Ireland's few models to work internationally, she regularly showcases bridal wear and would have had her pick of big-name couturiers.
But the level-headed model has kept her cool in the run-up to her big day and is the polar opposite of a stressed-out Bridezilla.
"I'm not a Bridezilla anyway, my sister keeps calling me a Bridechilla because I'm so chilled about everything. It's all really very relaxed," she said.
"We're going to get married in a traditional church, but I want a gathering with friends and family where everybody is toasting our love but in a party atmosphere. And obviously, another reason for Tuscany is that we'll have the weather too."
She has been dating her other half since 2006 and was blown away when he went down on bended knee in December 2012 and surprised her during a trip in the Big Apple.
Sarah has been kept very busy with a diary full of modelling jobs and said that planning the wedding was often on the end of a long list of things to do.
But although she said she is run off her feet, she always makes sure to take off her massive sparkler before each assignment as she's so worried she'll lose it.
"I'm the kind of person that would put it down and forget about it," she said.
"I'd be absolutely terrified that I'd lose it, so it's better that I don't wear it for certain things."
