Sarah Harding reaches out to former bandmate Cheryl for first time since 2014: 'Hey stranger'
Sarah Harding recently ended her estrangement her ex-bandmate Cheryl by reaching out to her on Twitter.
It had been rumoured for a long time that the Celebrity Big Brother winner was locked in a feud with her former Girls Aloud bandmate and she recently confirmed they hadn't spoken to each other since 2014.
However, Sarah extended an olive branch to Cheryl on Twitter on Wednesday evening to praise her debut single Fight for this Love after the singer asked her followers, "Yoo hoo can you tweet me the songs from my albums that you think should've been singles please."
Recognising how long they had gone without speaking, Sarah replied, "Hey stranger!...U know FFTL will always be the one #TrueToTheGame," followed by a blowing a kiss emoji.
Cheryl then surprised fans by replying with the same emoji as well as the dancing woman, an icon which referenced her Fight for this Love video, a winking face and the hashtag, "#alwaystrue."
Their exchange delighted fans, with one taking to Twitter to write, "YESSSS MY FAVES ACKNOWLEDGED EACH OTHERS EXISTENCE!!!!! Reunion plz (sic)," and another posting, "Love that yous girls are speaking (sic).”
"My heart just melted,” a third declared.
Cheryl had reportedly been worried about Sarah gossiping about the group when she headed into the famous house last month, where she met boyfriend Chad Johnson, but Sarah promised she wouldn't be spilling the beans.
She also told OK! magazine that although they hadn't spoken in a few years, they are not in a feud and she still has Cheryl's number so could call her any time she wanted.
"For me, it's not a publicity contest," she said. "I'm a private person and if I want to speak to any of the girls, then I'll call them."
