Saoirse Ronan is a vision in pink as she slays the Tony Awards red carpet
Saoirse Ronan joined a host of celebrities on the red carpet for the 70th Tony Awards in New York on Sunday.
The 22-year-old looked as elegant as ever as she opted for a nude-blush full length gown with a discreet triangle cutout on the midriff.
The 90’s inspired Stella McCartney ensemble proved that sometimes less is more – a trend which Saoirse carried over to her hair and make-up.
The Brooklyn star has received two Oscar nominations in her relatively short acting career, and presented the Best Featured Actor in a Play with Andrew Rannells at the ceremony last night.
Saoirse is currently starring in The Crubicle on Broadway, which received four nominations in the prestigious awards.
James Corden hosted the ceremony in the Beacon Theatre, New York, and paid tribute to the victims of Sunday’s Orlando massacre.
“On behalf of the whole theatre community and every person in this room, our hearts go out to all of those affected by this atrocity,” said Corden.
“All we can say is you are not on your own right now. Your tragedy is our tragedy. Theatre is a place where every race, creed, sexuality and gender is equal, is embraced and is loved. Hate will never win. Together, we have to make sure of that. Tonight’s show stands as a symbol and a celebration of that principle. This is the Tony Awards.”
The Tony Awards, also known as The Antoinette Perry Award for Excellence in Theatre, recognises achievement in Broadway theatre.
