Ruth Negga makes rare loved-up appearance with boyfriend Dominic Cooper as she's named Woman of The Year
Irish actress Ruth Negga and Dominic Cooper made an uncharacteristically loved-up appearance together.
The couple, who have been together for seven years, are famously press shy, with Cooper (39) even skipping the Oscars as her date so as to avoid too much attention on them. But they made an exception at Thursday night's Harper's Bazaar Woman of the Year Awards, where Negga was honoured with the top gong - Woman of the Year.
The Oscar-nominated actress (35) was hailed for her achievements in acting and found herself in esteemed company with Victoria Beckham, Kate Winslet and Ashley Graham all taking home awards at last night's celebration. In keeping with their low-key style, Negga and Cooper avoided the main red carpet together, but posed for pictures inside the event at Claridge's in London.
Ruth, from Limerick, was dressed head-to-toe in Louis Vuitton, wearing black cigarette trousers, a pair of black block shoes with the brand's logo emblazoned on the heels, the Petite Malle mini-trunk bag and and an intricately woven gold and floral embroidered kimono. Since her career defining role in Loving, Negga's star has been catapulted to new heights - she's featured on the cover of Vogue and W this year and is the new golden girl for Vuitton, becoming a regular fixture at all the French fashion house's events.
Also spotted at Thursday night's star-studded event at Claridge's hotel were British actresses Jenna Coleman, Gemma Arterton and Carey Mulligan, while singer Sam Smith and model Georgia May Jagger were also spotted.
Jodie Foster’s five decades on both sides of the camera was rewarded with the Inspiration award while Carey Mulligan’s campaigning for War Child saw her get the Philanthrophy award. Other winners included actress Charlotte Rampling (British Icon), model Adwoa Aboah (Role Model) and Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (Writer of the Year).
