RTE star Kathryn Thomas is expecting her first child with fiancé Padraig
TV presenter Kathryn Thomas has announced she's pregnant with her first child.
The Operation Transformation host (38) took to Instagram to share the exciting news that she and fiancé Padraig McLoughlin are set to become parents. Sharing a photo of her two pet dogs, the Carlow native said a new addition would be joining the family next spring.
"A little announcement. Excited to let you know myself and Padraig are adding to our little family," she wrote.
"We're over the moon and I feel extremely blessed that I'm pregnant. Our next baby might not be as hairy or have a tail like these two but will be equally as cute. Roll on spring time 2018."
Kathryn has already received an outpouring of well wishes from family and friends.
Fellow TV host Lucy Kennedy said she was "thrilled" for her friend. "Oh my God Kathryn, I'm so happy for you both. Fantastic news, awe, I'm thrilled," she said.
Padraig has a 21-year-old son named Conor from a previous relationship who competed on the BBC talent show Let It Shine. Kathryn and restaurateur Padraig got engaged last year when he popped the question while they were on a romantic trip to the luxurious Ballyfin House in Co Laois.
Over the summer, she said they planned to wed next summer.
