Rory McIlroy enjoys New York dinner date with girlfriend Erica Stoll before she's hit with stomach bug
They've been dating for six months, but Rory McIlroy is keeping his new romance under the radar.
The world number one golfer (26) has been dating PGA employee Erica Stoll (29) since October and the pair have managed to keep their relationship away from the public eye,
The loved-up couple reportedly enjoyed a dinner date in Rochester, New York earlier this month, where Stoll originally hails from.
It was originally believed he would be flying to Las Vegas for the Mayweather v Pacquiao showdown on Saturday night, but it looks like he decided on a more low-key evening to mark his birthday before Monday, May 4th.
Stoll and McIlroy were spotted leaving 2Vine restaurant in the area, according to local reports.
It explains why the couple kept things even more quiet this week as Rory revealed the beautiful blonde is recovering from a stomach bug.
"She was really sick and was suffering badly from food poisoning," he is quoted as saying in the Irish Daily Star.
"Erica had to be taken from course when I was on the 10th hole during the [WGC-Cadillac Match Championship] final. I think it was the same bug that Paul Casey had picked up so she couldn't travel, but she's much better now."
Rory famously split from tennis player Caroline Wozniacki in May of last year, calling off their engagement just days after their wedding invitations had been sent.
