Rory McIlroy and Erica Stoll are eyeing up their favourite Irish castle to host their wedding next year.
The Irish golfer popped the question to the PGA employee last year and it seems their New Year's plans for the last two years have been indicative of where they intend to wed.
The couple are reportedly eyeing up the five star Ashford Castle in Co Mayo for a New Year's Eve wedding, according to the Irish Mail on Sunday.
Ashford Castle is one of Ireland's most exclusive wedding venues and is often the backdrop for millionaire couples whose nuptials feature in Vogue.
And it wouldn't the first celebrity ceremony - Pierce Brosnan and Shane Filan both celebrated their weddings there in 2001 and 2003, respectively.
McIlroy said he loves his fiancée's low-key nature, praising her as a "great influence" on him personally and professionally.
"Erica has been around me quite a lot at tournaments but we have really just tried to keep it low key,” he said.
"She is a very low key person, not the kind to broadcast stuff, but that side of my life is really good just now. We are excited, our parents are excited so it is a really happy time.
"For me, Erica brings such a level of normality to everything. She has a calming presence, a sereneness and that’s not just on me; it is noticeable in any company. She never wants to be the centre of attention and is always very comfortable in the background.
"She has been a great influence on me and has given such a great balance to my life - between who I am when people see me out here and who I am at home."
