Rookie cop test means Harrison Ford was 'mistakenly given criminal record for domestic abuse'
In what sounds like a plot swiped from one of his films, Hollywood star Harrison Ford is being framed for a crime he didn't commit.
The Star Wars actor found himself with a criminal arrest record last week after a trainee police officer filed a fake report that he had been detained for beating up his wife.
The rookie cop was being shown how to enter reports into the police system and practiced by using the film legend's name during the training session.
However, instead of scrapping the entry afterwards, the trainee accidentally set the arrest report live.
The record, filed in California’s Huntington Beach Police Arrest Log, claims that Ford (73) was arrested last Thursday at noon for “inflicting corporal injury on spouse/cohabitant” and was also in possession of a controlled substance.
The Indiana Jones star, who is married to Ally McBeal actress Calista Flockhart, had a very strong alibi: he was reportedly not even in the country when the alleged crime took place, according to TMZ.
Police investigated the accusation and quickly removed it from the online database after realising it was a mistake.
