Ronan O'Gara and Jessica to return from Paris for summer in West Cork
It's all happening in Cork. But then, isn't it always? Ronan O'Gara and wife Jessica will be coming over from their home in Paris with the kids to spend their summer holidays in their real home - Cork.
Their mighty brood of JJ, Molly, Zak, Max, and Rua will doubtless find something to enjoy in the Real Capital of Ireland that they can't find in France's almost as celebrated City of Light.
How do I know Jessica, Ronan et al are coming to Cork for the summer?
Well - Jessica's daddy Dominic Daly, Cork's foremost auctioneer and raconteur, told me. Dappy Dom recently celebrated his birthday with a party at The Club Brasserie in the City Quarter, Lapp's Quay, in Cork. This suitably swish soiree, a dinner for Dom's nearest and dearest, was attended by his son Philip, plus his daughters, the aforesaid Jessica, plus elder sisters Adrienne, Katie and Lucy.
They all brought their partners, apart from Jessica, whose rugby legend other half Ronan was coaching his team Racing Métro 92 in Paris and couldn't attend.
What Ronan missed was a fine dinner with Jessica et al singing Dom happy birthday as he blew out the candles on his cake.
Next month, Dom is overseeing a public auction at Readers Bar on Washington Street in Cork in aid of local charities.
