Ronan Keating and Dannii Minogue swap parenting styles Down Under
They may be rival judges on hit TV show The X Factor Australia, but Dannii Minogue has revealed that having fellow parent Ronan Keating on the show makes life easier.
The petite 42-year-old has said that knowing that she is not the only star of the popular series to balance family life and work is a huge advantage.
Former Home and Away actress Dannii insisted that although Boyzone frontman Ronan's three children, Jack (14), Missy (13) and eight-year-old Ali, are older than her four-year-old son Ethan, they've all become friends.
"We have a bit of a kids' club," the brunette said.
"Ronan's kids come in for a few weeks from Ireland and Natalie Bassingthwaite's (another judge) daughter and my son go to the same school when we're here. Thankfully, you don't walk on set thinking, 'Am I the only parent here?'"
Dublin singer Ronan returned to his post on the panel of Australia's version of Simon Cowell's TV phenomenon in April to shoot the audition round of the forthcoming season.
He is due back in Sydney in August for the live performances.
In the meantime, the 37-year-old is focusing on his acting career.
He will next feature in The Riders with Luke Hemsworth and Mark Strong, a flick adapted from Tim Winton's 1995 Man Booker prize-nominated novel of the same name.
The plot focuses on an Australian man living in Ireland who is searching for his missing wife.
Ronan, who made his movie debut in Goddess in 2012, has also applied for an American working visa and could soon by heading stateside for a movie project.
He would no doubt be accompanied by his girlfriend, television producer Storm Uechtritz.
The couple have been dating since September 2012 and met shortly after Ronan's split from his wife, model Yvonne Keating.
