Rob Kearney and girlfriend Jess Redden's relationship is still going strong after four years
Irish rugby star Rob Kearney and Jess Redden have proved their relationship is stronger than ever after more than four years together.
The Leinster and Ireland player (31) has been dating the Royal College of Surgeons pharmaceutical student (24) since 2013 and are famously shy when it comes to gushing too much about their romance. Despite his high profile career and Jess' modelling contract and her re-branding as a food and fitness influencer, the pair prefer still life away from the spotilght.
But they made an exception to their own rule when the fitness fanatic shared a rare selfie with her other half earlier this year. And while Jess' profile continues to rise on social media, amassing 12,000 followers in recent months, you're more likely to find details of her exercise regime over pictures of her famous boyfriend on her feed.
The couple were last pictured together in August of last year, sharing some snippets from their trip to Las Vegas.
She has always been focused on her health, but became acutely aware of her body when she was diagnosed with kidney failure in 2014.
"I was getting really bad pains in my back and I was like, ‘God what is that?’ We went into A&E first and my creatinine levels were 80 and they’re supposed to be 300 and something, they were so, so low," she told The Irish Sun.
"[The doctors] kept me in and ran tests. They were talking about dialysis and biopsies. And they couldn’t even explain it. They still don’t know why, they thought it was a big massive viral infection. My poor parents, they were so upset.”
"Gradually I got better, I was given antibiotics but it was scary at the time, but that’s when I really valued my own health. I hadn’t really thought about it much until then. People think that pharmacists, the traditional role is just dispensing medicines. But they do so much more."
She now works our seven days a week.
