REVEALED: Jennifer Lawrence's relaxation secret...bad television
Jennifer Lawrence describes watching bad television as a “form of meditation”.
The 23-year-old is known to be extremely busy with work and often has gruelling back-to-back filming regimes. When she does get time to relax away from the limelight, Jennifer enjoys tuning into the small screen.
“Nothing. I do nothing other than watch bad TV,” she smiled to Psychologies magazine when asked how she unwinds. “Honestly, bad TV is like a form of meditation – it shuts off your brain for hours at a time.
"I travel lots for work, so I don’t want to travel when I go on vacation – I just want to stay put. I will go home to Kentucky. I like to babysit my baby nephew for a few days. It’s good, unwinding like that.”
Jennifer’s first big role in 2010’s Winter’s Bone earned her an Oscar nomination and she went on to win Best Actress at the 2013 Academy Awards for Silver Linings Playbook. Having risen to fame so suddenly, the blonde beauty is determined not to let the celebrity status go to her head.
“I try to look at everything in a very realistic, undramatic way. I think it’s easy to dramatise things, especially in this industry where things are made to seem glamorous when in fact, they’re really not,” she explained.
“I haven’t taken my eyes off the ball and I haven’t taken my eyes off my job. In the grand scheme of things, family comes first, but yeah, there are a lot of distractions in this industry although none of them are very appealing for me.
"I don’t like staying out late, so parties aren’t that tempting to me – I think I actually just like my job, so I like to do whatever keeps me working. That keeps me grounded.”
