Ruth Negga is an up-and-coming Hollywood powerhouse, there's no two ways about it.

After securing her first Oscar nomination for Loving and treating every red carpet event like her own personal runway, the Irish actress was ready to embrace her big break and Hollywood noticed.

The Limerick native (35) was one of a handful of VIP guests invited to celebrate the Blue Book Collection Gala thrown by Tiffany & Co in New York City alongside some major stars including Claire Danes, Jennifer Hudson and Haley Bennett.

But look at the sheer joy on Reese Witherspoon's face upon their introduction.

It goes to show no matter how famous you are, you still get starstruck at meeting someone you admire.

And the Oscar-winning actress isn't the only A-lister to take notice of Ruth's work as Interstellar star Anne Hathaway recently praised the former Love/Hate actress' acting ability.

"There are always these actors who really capture focus and attention. You hear their name coming up all the time, there's a real buzz. That's definitely Ruth. She's crazy super talented, really mesmerising and evocative in her work, making really smart, very strong choices. Very intelligent and considered," she told the Irish Sun.

"And her fashion choices during awards season were beautiful pieces of art. She's literally an icon for a new generation. She excites me so much and I can't wait to see what she does next."

High praise indeed.
