Britain's Got Talent finalist Jamie Raven has said earning the acceptance of the nation means the world to him.

The magician made it through last night's third semi-final of the TV talent show after the public voted to see him in Sunday night's grand final and was overcome with emotion while talking about how much he valued their support.

He explained: "In the auditions, the judges decided whether I was good enough to get through. Then to get through to the next stage, it's the whole country deciding, people watching on their TVs at home and deciding, 'Yeah, he wasn't bad, I like that guy'.

"To be accepted just makes you so proud. I don't have the words, I'm just so happy."

He added: "My friends and family are so lovely and supportive and they said how proud they are of me, so that means everything."

Raven also revealed that he was getting a lot of support on social media - so much so that someone pretending to be him is proving even more popular than he is.

He said: "After the audition, your numbers of notifications on Facebook and Twitter go up and I got a little blue tick (of verification) on Twitter.

"What's funny is I have an Instagram account and there's a fake Jamie Raven Instagram account that posts my photos and has more followers than me."

The Britain's Got Talent finale is being held this Sunday.
