Queen Letizia of Spain gets body shamed by tabloid for skinny frame
Queen Letizia of Spain has received 'backlash' for her skinny frame.
The former Spanish TV journalist, who became Queen last June after her husband, King Felipe, abdicated the throne, was the guest of honour at a gala in Madrid on Monday night.
And while the elegant royal's impeccable style earned her kudos as usual, it was her noticeably slimmer figure that earned headlines.
US tabloid Life & Style Weekly led with a story about the 42-year-old's appearance at the 2015 Woman Awards with actress Salma Hayek, choosing to fixate on her extremely slim frame.
"Queen Letizia of Spain's Skinny Frame Shocks Fans — Plus More Celebrities With Surprisingly Bony Backs," the headline reads.
It's the same publication which hopped on the bandwagon of skinny shaming Kate Middleton in 2011 and her pre-wedding diet. "Kate Middleton's shocking weight loss," the headline reads and refers to their July 2011 cover leading with "Stars Under Pressure: Starving to be skinny", alongside photos of Leann Rimes, Heidi Klum and Katie Holmes in bikinis.
Meanwhile, Letizia also debuted her new chic bob, which also received coverage around the world.
