Picture proof that Rachel Bilson hasn't aged a day since The OC
Rachel Bilson still looks like a fresh-faced teenager nine years after The OC.
Bilson has kept a low profile since the birth of her daughter Briar Rose in October 2014 but she made a rare red carpet appearance on Thursday, looking as fresh-faced as ever.
At 34, the actress could still be mistaken for a teenager, nine years on from playing one in The OC.
She was photographed at a fashion event in New York for American store Target, alongside best friend and wife of Channing Tatum, Jenna Dewan.
The sartorial-savvy star rocked her trademark bohemian style but kept it modern with clashing paisley and leopard prints and with a natural make-up look.
She recently revealed to Allure magazine that her make-up priorities have changed since the birth of her daughter.
“In my own life, it’s a little bit of mascara, a little Chapstick, and I’m ready to go,” Bilson said. “Maybe I’ll add a little eyeliner in there to spice things up. Maybe a little bronzer.”
She said she doesn't an emphasis on her looks, and instead focuses on taking care of her skin as best she can. “If I ever have anything on — like if I have mascara on — my daughter just stares at me for, like, five minutes: ‘Who are you?’ Bilson said.
“Because [make-up] has become so nonexistent, the easy things that you can do, like hydrating your lips, makes me feel a little better."
Maybe that's the key to looking so young?
That and keen eye for fashion?
Bilson was a style icon for a generation of mid-noughties girls (us included) in the years since her breakout role as Summer Roberts in The OC,regularly topping best dressed lists and even launching her own clothing line in 2008 with DKNY.
But she's been noticeably absent from the spotlight, appearing less and less on the red carpet as she focuses on her family instead.
She continued to act in movies and landed the lead role in the American drama series Hart of Dixie (which we have yet to watch) but since the show was cancelled in 2015, she's stayed away from the spotlight.
The California-born actress has been married to Hayden Christensen for nine years, which is a pretty long time by Hollywood standards, so avoiding the high-profile celebrity events is probably paying off relationship-wise.
But if you're looking for your Bilson fix, the actress offers fans insights into her personal life through her Instagram account with posts that are pretty down-to-earth, showing the real side of her life and not the celebrity brand.
