'Our house is genuinely upside down' - Pregnant Amy Huberman on renovating €1m home

Amy Huberman joked that life is 'upside down'

The award-winning actress just announced her second pregnancy with husband Brian O'Driscoll and the couple are also in the middle of renovating their €1m home in Goatstown.

They already have one daughter Sadie (18 months).

"It’s perfect timing," she laughed to Independent Style about the couple's plans to add an extension to their home.

"There’s never a good time for that but our house is genuinely upside down. They have deadline though!"

Amy was on hand to launch the opening of the new TK Maxx store at Dundrum Town Centre this morning.

And she was dressed typically on trend in a neutral ensemble, all from the discount retailer.

But the down-to-earth fashionista said she finds it strange to be considered a style icon.

"I always feel mildly embarrassed when people say it," she said. "But it’s very flattering. I think they’re lying and just being really nice," she joked.

While she also has her own range of shoes with Bourbon, she said there are no plans to introduce a maternity line.

"I don’t know about maternity, it’s not an area that I love and it’s for such a limited time," she said. "For so long in your pregnancy, you don’t need it – it’s just the end bit. Then it’s just dressing for necessity.

"I don’t particularly enjoy it. I try to dress non-maternity and work around the basics. Maternity stuff has come on, but a lot of it, I wouldn’t love."
