Actress Ruth Negga has landed the cover of January's issue of US Vogue but the magazine has referred to her as British.

The Irish-Ethiopian actress' career is blossoming following the release of Loving, a film which tells the true story of an interracial couple fighting for their rights in 50's era Virginia.

The film is generating plenty of Oscar buzz with much of the hype and praise directed at Ruth's performance.

Just week she landed the cover of the New York Times Magazine and the January 2017 cover of US Vogue, shot by Mario Testino.

The fashion bible did a wonderful interview with the 34-year-old, in which she detailed her own interracial background and losing her father at an early age.

However, fans of the star have noticed one controversial remark in the piece in which Vogue refers to the Limerick actress as British.
