Sinead O'Connor, Bryan Adams and The Divine Comedy are to headline this year's Westport Festival of Music and Food.

They will join over 30 Irish and international acts including Kool & The Gang, The Jim Jones Revue, Kila and The Hot Sprockets.

Now in its third year, the boutique festival takes place on June 28 and 29 in the 400-acre Westport House estate in Co Mayo.

And there are plenty of Irish acts showcasing their singing talents. Indie band The Cast of Cheers, Cavan singer songwriter Lisa O'Neill and duo We Cut Corners will perform sets.

Comedians Ardal O'Hanlon, Terry Alderton, Karl Spain and Dublin trio Foil, Arms and Hogg will hold court in the Comedy Tent.

The line-up was announced in Derry Clarke's restaurant l'Ecrivain on Baggot Street in Dublin yesterday.

The chef revealed how he is recovering well from his triple bypass surgery before Christmas.

"It was a tough Christmas. I was naive, I thought bypass surgery would be easy breezy, but it's tough," said Clarke, whose son Andrew died by suicide during Christmas 2012.

"I've lost a stone and a half. I've been out of the kitchen for six weeks. I don't feel great yet but I'm told I will feel great in a few weeks."
