Nicola Hughes: I'm still in touch with Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's ex
Dublin model Nicola Hughes has spoken about getting closer to Cheryl Cole's ex after enjoying a night out with him in London.
The Made in Chelsea (MIC) star revealed over the weekend that she's been in contact with the singer's former husband, Jean-Bernard Fernandez Versini. They dined out together in the trendy Chiltern Firehouse.
"He's a friend of a friend. He was a nice bloke. And, yes, we've been in touch since that night," she said.
The beauty, who is from Sandyford, first set tongues wagging in June after being pictured enjoying the company of Fernandez- Versini.
Nicola (26) broke her silence when asked about their relationship status, hinting that they are getting closer.
Last week, the blonde model was wrongly linked with another handsome man after they were spotted enjoying lunch. But the Diary can reveal that the strapping gentleman was actually her cousin and the pair had been photographed while enjoying a catch-up.
While she's clearly getting closer to Cole's ex-husband, she has insisted that she's still on the market for the summer and said that "single life is fantastic".
She also has no plans to move back to Dublin after making a new home for herself in London, having moved over there after meeting her MIC ex-boyfriend Alex Mytton.
"I don't want to move back to Ireland anytime soon.
"I definitely want to live in the UK for the next 10 years. I'll see what happens after that," she said.
However, don't expect to see her pop up in the new instalment of E4's MIC, which starts this evening.
It sees the fun-loving gang heading to Cannes for Alex's birthday party - which Nicola did not attend, a clear sign that they are no longer on amicable terms.
"I didn't film anything in France. Let's just say there was a lot of back-stabbing I didn't want to get involved in," she said.
She has been over in London for the past two years, since hooking up with Mytton after meeting him in a nightclub in Naas back in 2014.
It was a case of "love/lust at first sight" for the reality star.
"I was meant to go home that night, but he twisted my arm and I spent three days with him," she said.
Before landing the part on MIC, ambitious Nicola featured on RTE's Exiles.
It was a show about a group of young hopefuls trying to make a new life in Canada.
